Hi, I am Chloe
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Lyon, France.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What started as a temporary contract gradually turned into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to France wasn’t in the master plan. Like many international assignments, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and rising expectations. Daily tasks seemed more challenging than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural adjustment, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Lumen Field Studio
Most online content was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism information. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in France.
